It’s a protein bar seasoned like food instead of dessert. Each bar has 25g of protein, 170 to 200 calories depending on flavor, and 0g added sugar. Batch 001 has four flavors: two gently sweet, two fully savory, none of them candy.

Most protein bars are basically dessert. One nutritionist described a mainstream bar as “essentially dessert with a sprinkle of protein and fiber to dress it up.” We went the other way: Ration is seasoned like food, gently sweet where it’s sweet at all, with 0g added sugar per bar. Depends on the bar. R-01 and R-02 are gently sweet: toasted grains and tart cherry doing most of the work. R-03 and R-04 are fully savory. None of them get anywhere near candy.

No, and we’re not planning one. Chocolate is the one flavor the protein bar aisle already has covered.

The toasted oat bar tastes like good toast with sea salt. Tart cherry is tart first, almond underneath, just sweet enough. The two cheddar bars eat like a cheese cracker, sharp and salty, with real heat on the jalapeno. Nothing tastes like frosting, on purpose. Every flavor page lists exactly what goes into the seasoning.

No. It’s one wrapped bar, no heater, no pouch. You can eat it in a meeting without explaining yourself.

Because the math is easy. If you track protein, you’re aiming at a round daily number, and 25g units divide into it cleanly. We make no claims about what protein does for you; we just count it carefully.

Yes. Every number traces to the formulation on file, and the panel is verified by independent lab analysis of the production run.

Nothing exotic. Dairy proteins (whey protein isolate and milk protein isolate), puffed rice and protein crisps, toasted oats, a fiber and binder system, sunflower oil in most flavors, salt, and each flavor’s seasoning. Every flavor page on the Batch 001 board carries its full ingredient list, in the order it goes in.

Every flavor contains milk; dairy proteins are the base of the whole batch. R-02 Tart Cherry · Almond also contains tree nuts (almonds).

All flavors are made with oats; we make no gluten-free claim. R-02 is made on a line with controls for tree-nut cross-contact. Every flavor page carries its full ingredient list and its Contains line.

Mostly dairy: whey protein isolate and milk protein isolate do the heavy lifting in every flavor, and the protein crisps add more protein along with the texture. R-02 adds almond flour and almond butter on top of the same base, and those bring a little protein of their own too.

Allulose, in a gentle dose. It’s a rare sugar that pulls double duty: it takes the edge off R-01 and R-02, and it helps bind every bar in the batch. The FDA counts it outside Total and Added Sugars, which is why the panel reads 0g added sugar. Why the dose stays small is on the about page.

The other sugar you’ll see on a panel is R-02’s 4g of Total Sugars: cherry fruit sugar from the freeze-dried cherries. There’s no syrup anywhere in the batch.

Vegetarian by design: the base is dairy proteins, oats, and fiber. We are still confirming the rennet source on the cheese powders with our suppliers, and we won’t print the claim on a box before we have. Vegan, no. Dairy proteins carry the protein number in every flavor, and we’d rather say that plainly than promise a swap we haven’t built.

Light, with a lot of volume. The base is puffed rice and protein crisps, little airy spheres about the size of tapioca pearls, pressed into a bar. You get more bar in your hand for the calories, and it chews like food. Your second or third bar of the day still sounds good.

That’s half the reason it exists. Candy-sweet bars get eaten like candy. A bar seasoned like food sits in the drawer until you actually need 25 grams. Keep a box; it’ll still be there Thursday.

Sure, nothing’s stopping you. R-02, with the tart cherry, is the closest thing we make to one. It still won’t feel like dessert, though. That’s on purpose.

There’s no coating, so there’s nothing to melt. We still don’t recommend the dashboard in July.

Black coffee at 6am is the obvious one. R-02’s tart cherry was built for it. R-03 works well alongside a real lunch.

Unopened boxes: no questions asked. Opened boxes can’t be restocked; once the seal on a food product is broken it can’t safely be resold. If something is wrong with an opened box, email us anyway and we’ll make it right.
